"Jewerly making was an accidental love and has become a passion" says Amrita. For someone who somewhat accidentally fell into jewelry design, Amrita Singh certainly knows how to make an impression. This rising, extremely-talented designer is famous for her stunningly ornate bangles, earrings, necklaces and rings inspired by the Mughal era of India and her love of Art.
Based in New York, Amrita left her homeland of Delhi when she was sixteen to study marketing at New York's Fashion Institute of Technology. She also completed her two year executive training program at the prestigious Bergdorf Goodman in NYC after her graduation at FIT.

It’s not exactly surprising to learn that jewelry designer Amrita Singh began her career working for Oscar de la Renta and Christian Lacroix. Singh’s eponymous line of jewelry has an aesthetic favored by both legends in their own designs: ethnically diverse embellishments that celebrate the beauty of women in all cultures. Believing that “your jewelry should be priority number one when choosing your outfit,” Singh’s greatest source of inspiration lies in her own heritage, and her jewelry references time-honored motifs from India’s Mughal era”.
She wanted to pursue her dream of having her own business designing couture blouses. As an afterthought, Amrita used the leftover gems from her blouses to create jewelry which received an overwhelming response and her jewelry line was launched in 2003. Her pieces have been worn by the likes of Jennifer Lopez and Faith Hill, Virginia Madsen, Jessica Lange and Joan Allen to name a few. She has been featured in numerous publications such as Vogue, In Style, W, Glamour, Elle, and others.

To design custom pieces is the best part, whether it is a celebrity or any other client. It is that sense of satisfaction that one has by wearing something "couture" that no other person will have. It gives the jewelry more character, says Amrita. In 2005 Ms.Singh added two new jewelry lines, a semi precious line and a costume line called ‘ Bangle-Bangle’ .Both new lines are being sold at specialty boutiques. Amrita also offers a variety of contemporary lines such as sterling silver jewelry, fashion jewelry, sandals and more. In the upcoming seasons they would be adding several more product lines including handbags and hair accessories to compliment the beautiful jewelry.
In 2008, Amrita was been nominated by Fashion Group International for the 3rd consecutive year for their annual “Rising Star Award” in Fine Jewelry.
