By Suba Subramanium

Yoga guru Baba Ramdev’s initiative to set up his International base on a tiny picturesque Scottish island is generating a positive response from his world wide followers.
Little Cumbrae is a small island in the Firth of Clyde, off the coast of Scotland, was bought by Sam and Sunita Poddar, ardent devotees of Baba Ramdev, for two million pounds.  The Poddars, run the Patanjali Yog Peeth (UK) Trust, which is a registered charity and sister concern of Baba Ramdev’s movement in India.

"Our aim is to make Little Cumbrae a worldwide destination with something for the whole family to enjoy. It could be experiencing the rejuvenating and healing powers of yoga, pranayama and Ayurveda and exploring the glory of the island, walking on its nature trails and basking in the beauty of a pristine slice of the sea," Poddar said.
Here’s more about Baba Ramdev…………………………
Baba Ramdev is an Indian Hindu Swamiji. He is known for his efforts in popularizing Yoga as perceived by Patanjali's yoga shaastra.

Baba Ramdev’s camps are attended by a large number of people. Over 85 million people follow his yoga camps via TV channels, and video. His yoga teaching sessions are for the masses and absolutely free for all. His stated principle in life is to be of help to all mankind.
Swami Ramdev's flagship project, the Patanjali Yog Peeth Trust, was inaugurated on August 6, 2006. Its aim is to build the world's largest center for Ayurveda and Yoga. The Trust would include facilities for treatment, research and a teaching university. The trust, most notably, offers free treatment to those who cannot afford it and for others the treatment would cost a lot lesser than hospitals elsewhere.

Through the Patanjali Yog Peeth Trust, Swami Ramdev continues to work with various institutions and medical organizations in an effort to study and improve yoga's effectiveness in working against diseases like diabetes, hypertension and obesity.
