Hair care for any woman is important as hair can speak volumes about the way the hair is taken care of.  Indian women have slightly longer hair traditionally though women with shorter hair are also more common these days.Choose healthy habits for your hair. Any habits that damage your body also damage your hair. Exercise, eat well and avoid smoking and alcohol, or at least cut back. Your hair, like your body, sends you signals about what it needs. Is it drier or oilier or frizzier?

The right way of washing Hair: 

To wash your hair, always wet it first before applying shampoo. Then, lather it by massaging with your fingertips. Rinse thoroughly until squeaky clean. Pat dry and finger comb out the tangles or use a wide tooth comb.

Following are some tips for shiny, healthy hair with strong roots and improved growth:

1- Massage 4 tbsp of honey into your scalp, cover with plastic bag and keep on for 15 min and rinse off with hot water. Use this remedy once a week.

2- Combine 1/3cup of olive oil, 1/3 cup of vegetable oil and 1/3 cup of honey. Bring to a boil over low heat and remove from stove. Let cool for 5 min and put in spray bottle. To use: spray on hair and rub well. Wrap towel, wet with warm water, around your head and keep on for 1 hour, then wash your hair as usual. it will help prevent split ends in dry hair.

3- For dandruff: some cases of dandruff are thought to be connected with a lack of several vitamins, including A and B6. Try to keep your stress levels low as nervous tension can lead to skin dryness and, in turn, flaking. For healthy circulation, gently massage your scalp with your fingertips when shampooing. A relaxed scalp should move beneath the fingertips whereas a tense scalp will feel as tight as a drum skin!

4- Take 2-3 stalks of aloe Vera. Split the center and scrape out all the gel. Rub the gel into your scalp. Leave it on for at least half an hour then wash your hair. It is the best moisturizer for your hair in all seasons, for all hair types and the best remedy for dandruff.

5- Make Hair Straight n Beautiful: Spray some milk over the hair, after 20 minutes, rinse and shampoo as usual. It will make the hair straight and beautiful.

6- Home Remedy for Hair Fall- An excellent hair tonic can be prepared by mixing almond oil, olive oil and Castor oil in equal proportion. Massage this daily into the hair to stimulate hair growth and improve hair texture.

7-For adding volume and shine to hair: Using egg or plain white yogurt to wash hair can add volume to hair. Just apply egg or yogurt half an hour before washing your hair

8-Henna: Indian hair care would be incomplete without the mention of henna for hair. It is the most natural way to add shine and strength to hair strands. Also it can avoid tangling of hair. Using henna powder to make a henna paste.  It can be made and applied to hair. Using henna once every 4-6 weeks for hair can be the best natural care.

9-Another tip for hair care used commonly is curry leaf paste. While taking an oil bath, after washing hair by soap nut powder, immediately apply curry leaf paste and leave the hair unwashed for five to ten minutes and then wash the hair so as to give sufficient time for the curry paste to pierce into the roots as well as cooling effect.  Some people don't take oil bath for weeks or months together which will slowly result in dandruff forming.
