'Mausam' gets postponed!

Pankaj Kapoor’s debut movie as a director, Mausam, starring son Shahid Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor which was due to release on September 16 has now been postponed to September 23. The film’s cast and crew held a press meet yesterday to explain the delay in release.

Apparently the postponement is due to some issues raised by IAF who objected to some visuals depicted in the movie which has an air force backdrop for some length of the story. As per the norms Indian Air force officials had a special screening of the film in order to get an NOC from them. Now since some objections are raised, the certificate will be issued only after those portions are deleted or modified.

The censor board has already passed the film with a ‘U’ Certificate, but without IAF NOC the censor certificate also cannot be issued.

In any case the delay gives the cast and crew more time to promote the film which is carrying excellent reports within industry circles. So let us hope the postponement eventually will end up being beneficial to ‘Mausam’.
