Time Magazine has called him as probably one of the most recognizable actor in the world. Madame Tussauds Wax Museum in London has his wax figure along side Prince Charles, the Beckham couple (David & Posh), Amitabh, Saddam Hussein and many other international stars. He is non other then the current Superstar Shah Rukh Khan!
He has been there and done it all but with success comes ego and no one knows it better than the Bollywood star who calls himself the Badshah..
Whether it is the war of words with Aamir Khan where both claim to be at the Bollywood's top position, fist fight with Salman Khan at Katrina's birthday party , controversy with Vidhu Vinod Chopra or the clash with the Bachchan family; the SRK ego has only got bigger with each contention. Both Aamir and Big B have written about these issues in their blogs.Â
He has said: “There are only two Khans. Genghis Khan and Shah Rukh Khan” and “Awards that ignore me are losers”. He also sings “I’m the best, I’m the best” through an entire film. And nowhere was it more evident than with the brouhaha over the Kolkata Knight Riders — Shah Rukh’s IPL team — when the actor publicly challenged Sunil Gavaskar after the cricket legend criticised the team’s four-captains-in-one-match strategy. He has backed Buchanan who has sacked Dada as KKR captain, hurting Calcutta’s ego. SRK also says something like “There is no real SRK”.
But I guess the current market scenario which is going downhill has brought Shahrukh back to his senses. He had never minced words while literally abusing Aamir Khan, but duo had to come together and fought for the cause of the producers and distributors. Same happened with Vidhu Vinod Chopra. Shahrukh was miffed because of a sarcastic comment that Vidhu had made on SRK's Paheli.
The two were spotted together talking to each other. May be they have forgotten their differences and come together. Or maybe it’s a case of schizophrenia at ease? Lets see which one proves right.
